The observant would realized part of this composition was already posted somewhere in this website. Frankly this was an attempt trying to put that melodic fragment to rest. The “recycled” part is actually written close to a year ago, and then I tried to connect the pieces together.

I have always hated how the tune/fragment stuck in my head and I couldn’t write anything else because I have been thinking about it in every potentially creative moment. Now as it is finally written down and “published”, whenever I thought of it again, I would now think of it as my finished work, not as some lingering thoughts of the past.

Surely it feels great to let go, and move on. An inside joke that I would refrain from sharing, but the grander plan (dare not jinx it as another new year’s resolution) is to compose set of pieces in all keys and I wanted to get cross of the obscure ones off the board first: this one is in 7 flats.
