There are few more pages I have filled with notes and rests in my very first music notebook before I have access to computer scorewriter and slowly transfer my rough drafts from manuscripts to software-based creation. I still use manuscripts but their importance dropped greatly and they became more like kitchen napkins where I would scribble some preliminary ideas, motives or perhaps the very first rough draft—but after 1999 all my final, polished work are prepared with programs like Finale or Sibelius.
Returning to the book and scanning them besides the epic nostalgia attack is the realization of how my particular sets of skills (transcribe by rote/pitch accuracy/dictation) are formed and honed while I am still a pubescent boy not knowing too much and bumbling along…
As to the actual contents, many are most likely unintended complete transcription of pieces I have heard before or were studying, or having substantial material copped out into “my” piece. Consequently they have very little value, as far as I can tell-so I most likely wouldn’t spend time score them into Sibelius and make a neater score out of them. (Some are just too truncated to be played anyway.)
Check that bass line at the bottom of the page, lol! Did I just unintentionally wrote some chaconne? or worse, did I just (poorly) appropriated some Bach’s stuff? Highly likely.
“Continue at …Next 5-line(lol) page” Goodest English. The best! Most likely some piss-poor attempt copping some Brandenburg Concerto no.3…
This page’s writing look much neater and perhaps are written much later (1998, 1999?) yet as these are without dates its hard to pinpoint the exact time. Sounds like hot trash though, shame
I see I have used some of the motives for pieces I wrote a year or 3 from then (1999/2000). Those repeats are terrible, perhaps a space saving measure? Also notice this is the first time I learned for grand staffs you should carry your bar lines from top all the way to the bottom. You try to learn something new everyday, I guess.
pretty cool, I actually might score this on Sibelius lol. Got no date tho.
wow expression on tempo, phrase and pedal markings! And downward arpeggios too? fancy!
